National Lampoon's Utah Vacation

My parent's came to visit for about a week and a half and here's what went down.

Finally got a crib (and my mom made that quilt. pretty impressive, huh?)

And Savannah was a freakin cutie!

We also went to Seven Peaks, but we forgot to take pictures. Oh well!

Savannah is so wonderful. She's starting to smile at us and talk to us. Unfortunately, she has stage fright so we can't ever catch anything on video. She's been sleeping through the night! WooHoo!! She's been at it for a few weeks now and it is oh so wonderful. It's great to get 8 hours of sleep once again. Greg and I had heard all about that stage infants go through at about 2 months where they scream and can't be soothed. Well, she's about 3 months and we're still waiting for that. I'm hoping we just bi-passed the whole thing. She weighs 8 pounds now and she's scheduled for a sleep study on Thursday. Hopefully that will reveal something about how to proceed with her breathing issues.

Baby Blessing

Luckily Savannah was released from the hospital the day before we were planning on blessing her. My parents and Greg's parents came to Utah so it would have been quite a bummer if she was still in the hospital.

Savannah's Operation

As some of you already know, Savannah was in the hospital a few weeks ago. We took her to the pediatrician on Monday, May 30(our 2 year anniversary) because her chest was retracting when she breathed. We were then sent to Utah Valley Hospital. They ran some tests and took X-rays and determined that she just wasn't getting enough oxygen. She was also using so much energy to breathe and eat that she wasn't gaining weight. She was 2 months old and still 6 pounds 7 ounces. We were transferred to Primary Children's Hospital the next day. The ear, nose, and throat doctor suggested surgery on her epiglottis. She had the surgery June 2 and finally got to go home on the 4th. She came home with a feeding tube so she would be able to get food without using so much energy. We're supplementing her milk with a little formula for extra calories. As of this past Wednesday, she weighs 7 pounds 10 ounces!! We've put the feeding tube on hold now and she's just drinking extra thick milk to lower the chances of her aspirating, which she was doing in the hospital. Hopefully she's getting better with that. She has an appointment on Thursday to get a sleep study consultation. The ENT doctor wants to make sure she doesn't have sleep apnea. I'll update everyone after her appointment. In the meantime, here are some cute (and sad) pics of her in the hospital.

My Love Affair with Craigslist

Craigslist is seriously the best thing since sliced bread. I'm obsessed. I check it everyday(OK maybe like 10 times a day), just in case I find something totally awesome. I've found so many great deals using Craigslist and sold plenty of things too. Can you believe someone was giving this glider and ottoman away for FREE?!?! It's perfect! And it looks great in Savannah's room.

And here's some recent pictures of our cute little family.

(this is Greg's foot by the way)

Photo-Op

Savannah's growing up so fast. She's already 6 weeks old! She looks so much different than she did the day she was born. Here's some pictures taken at 5 weeks.

Zumba

I've been hearing a lot about Zumba and was never really sure what it was all about. But I finally went to my first class on Tuesday with some friends. And then I went again last night and I'm going again tonight! (is it obvious that I enjoyed it?) It was so stinkin fun. I've been needing to get back in shape since I had Savannah and I think this is how I'm going to do it. I absolutely LOVE working out, but I hate running and I didn't now many other cardio activities. Zumba is definitely the best! It's like an aerobics class with dancing. It's super high energy, fast, and fun. I would recommend Zumba to anyone and everyone.
