Savannah's Operation

As some of you already know, Savannah was in the hospital a few weeks ago. We took her to the pediatrician on Monday, May 30(our 2 year anniversary) because her chest was retracting when she breathed. We were then sent to Utah Valley Hospital. They ran some tests and took X-rays and determined that she just wasn't getting enough oxygen. She was also using so much energy to breathe and eat that she wasn't gaining weight. She was 2 months old and still 6 pounds 7 ounces. We were transferred to Primary Children's Hospital the next day. The ear, nose, and throat doctor suggested surgery on her epiglottis. She had the surgery June 2 and finally got to go home on the 4th. She came home with a feeding tube so she would be able to get food without using so much energy. We're supplementing her milk with a little formula for extra calories. As of this past Wednesday, she weighs 7 pounds 10 ounces!! We've put the feeding tube on hold now and she's just drinking extra thick milk to lower the chances of her aspirating, which she was doing in the hospital. Hopefully she's getting better with that. She has an appointment on Thursday to get a sleep study consultation. The ENT doctor wants to make sure she doesn't have sleep apnea. I'll update everyone after her appointment. In the meantime, here are some cute (and sad) pics of her in the hospital.
