So it's been a while since I wrote, but I figure this blog is mainly for my personal benefit. I just want to be able to remember certain details about my life (like each pregnancy and birth story). I know my kids will ask about some of these things one day.
So about a week before Christmas (obviously of 2014) we found out we were expecting another baby! I took a pregnancy test on my own and thought about maybe waiting until Christmas Day to tell Greg in some cute way, but then I remembered I can't keep a secret worth squat. It would just be eating away at me the entire time. So I just told him when he got home from work that day.
I did, however, keep this a secret from my parents while the kids and I were in GA for Christmas. It was still early in the pregnancy (or so we thought) and I didn't want to jinx anything. Once we got back home in CA, I set up my first OB/GYN appointment. So exciting!! The whole gang came with me to see the ultrasound and it turns out I was a little further along than we anticipated. As soon as the baby came on the screen I said "wow! it looks like a real baby; not just a blob" and the OB is like "uh...yeah, you're definitely not 8 weeks along." We were 12 weeks 4 days along! So since we were passed the "danger zone" of miscarriage we went ahead and told everyone.
•How far along?: 14 weeks 6 days
•Total weight gain: i think like 5 pounds
•How big is baby?: The size of a lemon (3.4 inches, 1.5 ounces)
•Maternity clothes?: not yet
•Maternity clothes?: not yet
•Movement: nothing yet
•Stretch marks?: no
•Sleep?: soooo sleepy! like "getting 10 hours a night and I still need a nap" sleepy
•Symptoms?: sleepiness and not craving sweets (which is definitely weird for me)
•Food cravings: nothing specific, but savory food
•What I miss: everything's still pretty much the same
•What I'm looking forward to: having a bigger belly so it doesn't look like I'm getting fat
14 weeks
I know the blog is mostly for you, but I love hearing how you, Greg, and the kiddos are doing! Sending all my love!
